We are so fortunate to be wrapping up our year with our students having wonderful opportunities to meet several authors! On Friday, April 8, our first graders will go to the Madeira Public Library to meet David Ira Rottenberg, author of Gwendolyn the Graceful Pig. Third and fourth graders will be visited by Obert Skye, author of the Leven Thumps and Pillage series on Friday, April 29th. Also, Hester Bass will be presenting her award winning book The Secret World of Walter Anderson to our second graders on Friday, May 6 at the Madeira Public Library.
Special thanks to Barnes & Noble and the Madeira Public Library for bringing these wonderful authors to our students!
And finally, author and illustrator Loren Long will come to MES on Thursday, May 19. He will have sessions with all students throughout the day, and then have a family session at 6:00 pm on Young Author's Night. His books will be available for purchase at a 20% discount and Loren will happily autograph books that evening. A HUGE thank you to Loren for making this day so special for us!!
